The Butterfly House - Haga Ocean

The Butterfly House - Haga Ocean is a tropical oasis in the middle of Stockholm. The museum is home to over 700 butterflies of varying species and a number of tropical fish including two species of reef sharks. The 5000 square meter space if full of interesting plants and animals.
Surrounding area: The museum is located at Hagaparken in Solna, north of Stockholm. The surrounding park has a lot of grass and accessible nature.
Age groups: The museum is most appropriate for children of all ages.
Exhibits: The museum has four large greenhouse buildings, each with something unique to discover. You will find a tropical rainforest in the middle of Stockholm with hundreds of butterflies, sharks and tropical fish, frogs, turtles, giant carp, and free roaming quail.
Special activities: On occasion the museum zoologist will give a presentation about the sharks and answer questions. Due to COVID-19 all of his presentations have been canceled until further notice.
Pricing and memberships:
Private events & parties: The museum and restaurant can be rented for any kind of party. Groups of 10 or more receive a 10% discount on admission.
Accessibility: The museum is all on one level. There are no difficult thresholds but the floor can be uneven in places. There are stairs in the aquarium but everything can be viewed without using them.
Restaurant & picnic area: The café is open one hour after museum opening and closes one hour before. There is no place to eat a brought meal or snack.
Strollers & storage: Strollers are not allowed in the exhibit but there is a tent to lock them outside the museum. There are no storage lockers but there is a wardrobe without locks.
