Vanadislundens nedre Lekplats

Surrounding area: Vanadislundens nedre Lekplats is located in Vasastan, the north east of Stockholm. It is fairly close to the city center with many shops and restaurants.

Age groups: The playground is most appropriate for preschool and middle school children.

Features: At the base of a large a hill, the playground has a unique gangway along the inside edge of the park with a few slides attached to the lower level. Under the gangway there are play houses and ropes constructed for pretend play.
The playground features include:
  • Two large slides attached to the gangway
  • A carousel themed seating area
  • A large sand pit with an excavator and sensory table
  • A large swing set with four bucket swings, two tire swings, and basket swings
  • Stepping logs
  • Climbing platforms leading to the gangway
  • An ouroboros snake statue
  • A small rope climbing structure
  • Climbing ropes attached to the gangway
  • A balcony with a sand mill
  • A prism for light play on the gangway
Accessibility: The playground has a basket swing but does not have other accessible equipment.

Safety: Visibility is very good in the playground, especially with the raised gangway. The gangway has high railing. The playground is entirely fenced in with safety rails around the swings.

Shade: The park is well shaded for large parts of the day by the hill and/or buildings on one side. There is also a very large oak tree in the playground that provides a lot of shade.

Seating: There are many benches around the playground

Picnic area: There are many picnic tables around the playground.

Restroom and changing table: There is an automatic toilet located just outside the playground on Sveavägen.

Strollers and bikes: There are no bike racks in the playground but there is space to bring and park both strollers and bicycles.
